Wise Father, your way is simple. We humans complicate our lives because we refuse to follow your way. We live for the moment. We let passions dominate us. We live for self. Then come the consequences.
Give us wisdom, O God, that we might know the truth of your Word and understand that living for the long term brings security and peace in the short term. Let us sow in righteousness, that we might reap eternal life.
Let us be simple, as your way is simple, and not more so. Let us be alive to you and alert to evil’s desire to pull us away from your presence.
