Jim Holway suggested a book to me several years ago that you might find interesting. The thesis is that we should get a group of three people of the same gender together, read 20 - 30 chapters of the Bible each week and then get together to discuss. Later another person can be added but always with the idea of creating a new group of three. There is also a bookmark with some serious accountability questions to be asked each week. I did this in Charlotte with two other men but we didn't want to break up our group so never expanded it. I'm considering trying it here in Honduras. The name of the book is "Cultivating a Life for God: Multiplying Disciples Through Life Transformation Groups" by Neil Cole

How true! I never cease to be amazed at those who may not be able to help out in some of the more physical aspects of outreach or other areas within a congregation's life and don't think they can do anything. Have we so emphasised doing and "being seen" that we have neglected the important things like prayer, study, encouraging others? I am growing to appreciate more and more those who you never hear about, but are there praying and making a difference without ever being seen.

Good points all. Especially #3. I remember being at a campaign in Uruguay where we were desperately trying to stop some guys from dunking everyone they could get their hands on. Their excuse? "Matthew 28 says baptize them, then teach them." Wow.

Thanks for sharing some good advice.
