Are we alone, Lord, just you and me?

Are we alone, Lord, just you and me?
Did no one else, Lord, refuse to flee?
Do none remain, Lord, who still are true?
Though all turn back I still will walk with you.

What worth has pain, Lord, such agony?
Why send your Son, Lord, upon the Tree?
Are few the faith, Lord, who will receive?
Though much I do not know, I still believe.

Why give the saints, Lord, the gospel Word?
What of the lost, Lord, who’ve never heard?
How can I teach, Lord, this mystery?
But here am I, your servant, Lord, send me.
