Fit me for this rarest air

Christian poetry and prayers

None is good, O God, but you,
None unfailing, none so true,
Only justice from your throne,
Blessed to know and to be known.

Life unending in your light,
Gone are pain and earthly fright,
Death is banished from the street,
In its midst the righteous meet.

Fit me for this rarest air,
Breathed by angels and the fair,
Dressed in white and shining clothes,
Ruled by him who died and rose.

There we’ll ever sing and serve,
For our God, the Son deserve
From his saints the purest praise,
“Glory be to all his ways!”
