Let us break the mold

Our Father in Heaven, let us break the mold of religious expectations by faithfulness to your eternal plan and full adherence to your saving purpose. Fill us with love for the lost so that we are true evangelists all, zealous proclaimers to every soul, trusting followers of the Lord Jesus to save for everlasting salvation.

Let us be the people of a single Leader, the heavenly family of sincere love, the Body of Christ with all members fully functioning.

Perfect us as the spiritual soldiers in full battle armor, to slay every temptation at the gate, to kill every attempt at wrongful division and strife, to rescue every soul suffering under the oppressive powers of Satan.

Keep human traditions from holding us back, make your inspired instructions our sacred charter, hold before us the single mission that our Lord Jesus Christ fulfilled on earth and for which he sends us out into the whole world.

Make us willing, Father, to forgo any meat that causes your little ones to stumble and to jettison any preference that hinders the reach of the gospel. In the blessed name of Christ. Amen.

  1. When discouragement is strongest is when prayer is the most necessary. With the new theories of “God is Dead,” even in the church, men and women are not encouraged to pray. They don’t believe God works today and so why should they waste their time?

  2. I certainly do believe. The Lord Jesus taught us to pray like this: “Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” I have begun and will continue to pray this for the rest of my life.
