Never a step outside
God omnipotent, use me to show to those on the other side the abyss between living under one's own power and depending every moment upon your Spirit in hope, love, and faith. Let me never take a step outside of your will or where your power will not sustain me.

The gospel too precious to leave to chance
Heavenly Father, thank you for the gift of salvation in Christ, that we might know you and your heart. As you planned from the beginning to save man, let me today look ahead to see how I might prepare the moment to serve and share the Word with others. For the gospel is too precious to leave it to chance.

You are God, Highest above all, Sovereign who rules the universe, Creator of man and beast, Savior of those who believe. Let me never forget my place, O Lord.
As we stamp the prints of our lives
Almighty, Glorious and Everlasting God, in whom we live, move, have our being and before whom all men must someday appear; we humbly ask for Your Divine blessing and protection as we stamp the prints of our lives upon yet another day’s journey. Our lives are broken
God of wholeness and unity, our lives are broken, and we limp from twisted thinking. Forgive! And make us anew, to be like our Lord Jesus, and holy like you.
Let me store up your word in my heart
O God who speaks, keep me aware of your word as being central to my faith and service. Let me store it up in my heart, that I might obey you and keep sin away. Let it transform me as I ponder its meaning and apply it to my daily walk with you.
May my message to the world be organized
My God, may my message to the world be organized around the Lordship of Jesus, and myself as a slave to others, for his sake.
Making prayer personal
We should ask God for help in overcoming temptation and not be afraid to give specific problematic situations (1 Cor. 10:13). If you are battling with something personally, go to God about it. If a situation has developed in the congregation that has the potential to create problems, pray about it in public.
Does all of this require more thought? Sure. That’s what makes it meaningful. The truth is that generic prayers reflect a generic relationship with a generic God. If we truly seek a personal relationship with a personal God, this will be reflected in the personal character of our prayers.
