Let Not a Single Detail Escape Me

Let not a single detail escape me,
Of Calvary’s darkest day,
When Jesus saved from sins that trapped me,
And took my guilt away.

May every word and gesture mark me,
And his forgiving prayer;
Let thoughts about his suffering make me
Of my need more aware.

Dear God, to life in Jesus raise me,
For all eternity;
In mission to save, please baptize me,
With love that sets one free.

Let not a single soul pass by me,
Without an inviting word;
For this, to Calvary daily fly me,
My heart with zeal to be stirred.

Please share this prayer with a friend.

Jesus Came to Witness

Jesus came to witness to the truth,
He said to Governor Pilate’s agnostic face;
In human flesh, the mind of God he spoke,
As light of the world, he left his glorious place.

O Lord, we’ve no idea of such a jump
That brought him to earth — but what humility!
Because of him your word serves as our lamp,
And we have pardon for eternity.

Let shine his fullest glory, illumine our path,
May love of truth be dear for it’s his nature;
Divert from us, O God, your holy wrath —
Your will is our one reason for existence.

Darkened Death

Wood and hammers, piercing spear,
Color of blood, smell of fear,
Cries of anguish, hopeless moans,
Broken flesh, protected bones.
Aching thirst, whispering lips,
Open wounds, welts of whips,
Empty laughter, soldiers’ bets,
Darkened death, forgiven debts.
