I. The Church is God’s Spiritual House Because
A. It is not made up of any material substance (2:5)
B. The Holy Spirit lives in Christians (1 Corinthians 6:19-20)
C. The Holy Spirit guides it (1 Corinthians 3:16)
D. The sacrifices are spiritual in nature (cf. Hebrews 13:15)
II. God’s Spiritual House Is
A. Holy (2:5)
B. Rejected (2:7)
C. A stumbling stone (2:8)
III. As God’s Spiritual House We Are
A. A chosen generation (2:9)
B. A royal priesthood (2:9)
C. A holy nation (2:9)
D. His own special people (2:9)
E. To proclaim His glory because of His mercy (2:10)
