Help me, O Lord, fulfill a need:
To wash a brother’s or sister’s feet,
To give a cup of water or feed
A hungry soul, to cheerfully greet
The lonely or broken heart, to guide
The lost and erring, for whom Christ died.
Each time we meet on holy ground
Before your high, majestic throne,
Let me, O King, by love be bound
To serve my neighbor, not my own
Desires and will — May I be found
To be like Jesus, who suffered loss
Of heaven’s glory, for death on a cross.
