“God is love,” you tell us,
not merely that you have it,
or share it, or greatly show it;
It’s your very nature,
who you are, infused
throughout, you cannot be
Yourself without loving.
We cannot comprehend You
unless we know this truth:
For all the Greater Good
and the smallest single act,
You plan and move and bring
together all the parts
by love, for love, as love.
Into this shower of love
Let us step, and soak up
into our very selves,
until our names, like Yours,
assume this trait, much more
than merely doing, but Being—
We, too, like you, are love.
I really like the different styles of poetry and especially these prayers. Very touching.
I try to vary the style so the reading doesn’t become monotonous. Thanks for noticing!
