Oh, Lord, it is easy to see why some scribe probably added this beautiful ending to our Lord’s example of a disciple’s prayer:
For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen
Our desire is to glorify you. Let us not attempt it, however, by adding to Scripture.
Let us glorify you by allowing your unlimited power to work in us.
Let us realize, Father, that your commandments are not burdensome, because, not only is their intent benevolent, but their fulfillment comes by our dependence upon your power working in and through us.
With divine commandments com divine power.
Let us never forget this comforting truth.
