The unwavering line

Purest mind and unmixed motives I seek,
The harder I charge and slash when feeling weak.
A battle lost is not the war surrendered,
Until the Lord returns, the fight’s unended.

So on I clash with evil in the soul,
To give to Christ my spirit’s full control,
Deliver to him the heart, complete and whole.

Unrelenting, I flout the ebb and flow,
With eyes upon the end I crave to go.
From here to there I see the unwavering line —
Perfection of Christ, O will of God, be mine!
