The Prayer of Light and Zeal

Let love of Christ touch all we do,
And every act by faith be bound;
Let joy proclaim our gratitude,
And gospel shoes with hope be crowned.

Let words be full of mercy’s tone,
And gifts be always free to share;
No righteous deed be left undone,
And needs ascend in fervent prayer.

Let light upon the lifeless shine,
May zeal increase with steady flame;
Converted tongues sing hearty hymn,
And glory give to God’s dear name.
