In this list of 20 Brazilian municipalities ranked by GDP, only two do not have, as far as I know, churches of the Lord: #15, Duque de Caixias, in the state of Rio de Janeiro, and #20 Goiânia, capital of the state of Goiás.
I believe that a
Brazilian team is preparing for the latter, and we pray they are not taking a false gospel there, since they are being sent by the progressive Great Cities ministry. (UPDATE: That team disbanded. There are no plans, apparently, to evangelize this city.)
That 18 of the 20 municipalities have congregations in them is a motive for rejoicing, mixed by concern that, one, we have still only touched the hem of the garment as far as reaching these cities, and that, two, liberal doctrine has made huge inroads in a number of places in the church in Brazil.
We strive to present the “message of truth, the gospel” (Cs 1.5), which is the “true grace of God” in which we stand fast (1Pt 5.12). We pray that the gospel may run and spread among all the cities of the country.
