Elvis Henry Huffard (1918-2000) was born April 24, according to Terry Gardner on the Friends of the Restoration group on Facebook.
Brother Huffard, as I mentioned there, was my missions professor at Freed-Hardeman University, exercising a great influence over my life.
He led a number of summer campaigns I participated in, notably to England and Scotland. (In those days, campaigns lasted six weeks.) He served as a counselor and friend.
Brother Huffard was a missionary in Nigeria, a powerhouse in Christian education, a family counselor and director of counseling. His daughter Kathy and I were at FHU at the same time, and as I recall, were on at least one campaign together.
Brother Huffard and his wife Emily influenced thousands. I am privileged to be counted among that number.
