Tom Childers notes the birthdates of well-known preachers on his Facebook group, “Friends of the Restoration.” He listed Ira Rice’s birthday as Aug. 3, 1917.

Brother Rice was a missionary in Asia for many years. Though he may have had his excesses as editor of “Contending for the Faith” magazine, he did not fear speaking out against assaults on the church by false teachers.
